When
Saturday, 20th May, 2023
Ceremony and Reception: 1pm
Evening Reception: 7pm—midnight
Although the service will start at 1pm, please arrive in plenty of time to be seated without bumping into our very keen bridal party.
We are really looking forward to dressing up for the occasion and are aiming for a smart dress code for guests (suits and posh frocks).
The evening will include a ceilidh (no experience needed), so you may want to consider dance-friendly shoes.
Where
St Mary the Virgin Church
Chadley Ln, Godmanchester, Huntingdon PE29 2AW
The church, located in the centre of the old town, was mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and has Grade 1 listed building status. The stone structure, built in mixed Gothic and Early English style, consists of a chancel, nave, aisles and tower with spire. The roofs are timber covered with lead. The chancel is 13th century, the nave 16th century, the tower and spire early 17th century. The nave is separated from the aisles on each side by five corresponding high pointed arches.
There is no parking immediately next to the church, but there are two car parks within a 5 minute walk, located at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and in the Post Street car park.
The Manor Barn, Harlton
Washpit Ln, Harlton, Cambridge CB23 1EY (30 minute drive from Godmanchester)
The Grade II listed tithe barn is over 400 years old and is the most stunning example of its type in the area. It has a rich history of agricultural heritage as well as events being held here celebrate the harvest as far back as 1934. We hope you will enjoy taking photos.
There will be plenty of space to express yourself in dance and a cash bar may help with this.
There is dedicated parking at the barn and you may leave your car overnight if needed.
